   Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission is to pioneer research that understands child and family development in context. We use these insights to build responsible, sustainable educational pathways that empower communities from within.

Our Vision is a future where education and psychosocial support are culturally grounded, creating sustainable well-being for every child, youth, and family in Cameroon and beyond.

providing data and facilities missing from previous research.

Our Core Programmes & Services

Our work is organised across nine interconnected domains, each addressing a critical aspect of development and well-being. We conduct research, build capacity, and run community outreach to make a tangible impact.

Adolescent Development and Education (ADE): Guiding adolescents through the crucial transition to adulthood, marriage, and parenthood with cultural relevance.

Health and Family Wellbeing (HFW): Promoting health by tackling challenges like HIV/AIDS, malaria, and trauma with culturally sensitive and effective preventive measures.

Special Needs and Inclusion (SNI): Championing the development and education of children with disabilities, the gifted, orphans, and other disadvantaged groups.

Family Education and Training (FET): Strengthening families with training on parenting, gender-sensitive socialization, and decision-making rooted in African cultural values.

Cognitive Development and Pedagogy (CDP): Researching how local culture and traditional practices can enhance cognitive development and create effective teaching methods.

Child Protection and Advocacy (CPA): Protecting vulnerable children through research, advocacy, and direct action against abuse, trafficking, and child labour.

Education in Emergencies and Crises (EEC): Providing essential education and psychosocial support to children and communities affected by armed conflict and other emergencies.
